About
Grain of Hope exists to support individuals and families in our community by providing access to nutritious food with dignity, respect, and care. We understand that food insecurity can affect anyone, and our goal is to help fill gaps during times of need—whether temporary or ongoing. We are committed to creating a welcoming and judgment-free space where community members feel supported, valued, and respected. Beyond food access, the pantry serves as a place of connection, care, and hope. We believe that no one should have to choose between basic needs, and that everyone deserves access to healthy, culturally responsive food options.Through partnerships, community support, and shared compassion, we work to reduce hunger while strengthening our community—one visit, one family, and one meal at a time.Founders
Grain of Hope was founded by Yer Xiong and Lang Vang, a couple who understand firsthand the challenges many families face while raising children with limited resources. During their own journey, they experienced moments of uncertainty and relied on community support to help make ends meet. Those experiences showed them the power of compassion and the importance of having access to help without fear or judgment.
As they became more involved in their community, Yer and Lang began to notice that many families—especially those from communities of color and immigrant backgrounds—were still struggling to access support in ways that felt safe, respectful, and culturally meaningful. Recognizing these gaps, they created Grain of Hope to be more than a pantry. Their vision is a welcoming space rooted in dignity, cultural understanding, and care, where families feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.
